Mission
It is the mission of the Community Development Department to provide accurate, thorough, responsive, and courteous service to all our customers.
Responsibilities
The department is responsible for the orderly development of the City and the administration of various land use and building regulations, including the Development Code and Building Code. Our department:
- Offers technical advice to the mayor, City Council, Planning Commission, and committees.
- Presents reports and recommendations on development proposals.
- Oversees census and geographic information.
- Provides assistance to residents and developers in all areas of building construction.
- Protects the public's health, welfare, safety, and property values by enforcing city regulations and building codes.
